2.6.1.2.1.5. Export database using phpMyAdmin

The size of the database dump can be many times smaller than the size of the database on the hosting.
  1. Log in to phpMyAdmin.
  2. Select the database from the list on the left:
  3. Open the "Export" tab, make sure the toggle switch is set to "Quick" and "SQL" is selected in the "Format" field, then click "Export":

This will download an SQL file containing the current database contents. You can use this file for a subsequent import.
